One of two bottles I purchased, and my first real absynthe. While I do not have other absynthe to compare it too, other than the Moulin Vert, I must say I was pleased. It was not quite what I expected, but I wasn't sure what to expect really. It has a beutiful and rich herbal bouqet, from the moment the bottle is uncorked. I had no trouble at all with the cork, and with a little care was even able to preserve the wax seal as a memento. The color is a beutiful green, and louches to a nice, milky, almost mint green. I had several glasses, trying both of the traditional rituals, but personally found melting the sugar into the absynthe more trouble than it was worth - as it produced no discernable difference in flavor (though it did change the louche to a milky caramel color). I found the flavor to be very pleasing, with no bitterness, and it went down very smoothly. There were strong herbal tones and more subtle variations to the flavor. I would say I was very pleased with the experience, and I can see why this particular blend is among so many favorites. On a side note, myself and a friend did try 1 strait shot each, for comparison, as we've heard that Absynthe can be consumed that way. I must say, however, it is definately not the way to go. When taken strait it is very bitter, and most of the herbal flavors are unrealised and overpowered by it's exceptionally high alcohol content. So those out there who do insist on drinking as shots - you don't know what you are missing.

In my opinion, this is a really nice absinthe with a beautiful aroma. The flavor reminds me of Eichelberger Verte 78, just with a little less body but more bitter. I had a few problems with the cork, but once it came out and I poured my first glass it was entirely worth it. Suisse Verte Clandestine has a great louche which gives it a nice aesthetic appeal and makes the wait as pleasing as the taste.

My opinion of the Suisse Verte Clandestine. Is that its a exceptional absinthe. It pours to a beautiful forest green. and louches in to a milky elixer, leaving the sweet smell of anise and wormwood in the air. I sugesting two suger cubes if you don't have an appriation for bitterness

This is my review on the stronger of the 2. I ordered it from the USA on tuesday, it arrived the following tuesday..Amazing! All I can say is that this is an amazing absinthe. the taste is so clean and fresh. You can't even taste the the 144 proof... Color is a light moss green, which turns milky white/jade with water. The smell is light and floral. Fennel anise springtime. I will order this again, and again. If you want a great absinthe this is the one to try.

At first I was wondering if spending this much on one bottle was really going to be worth it. But after reading the reviews on the #2 Version of this I decided to give it a shot. I will be ordering more, this bottle blew me away

Chose the smooth version (#2), wormwood in the coloration is an heresy. The #2 is an excellent traditional absinthe, one of the best on the market (and I have been sampling absinthes for about 10 years now, including vintage).
