Absinthe Monolith

NEW BATCH 2024: Absinthe Monolith is a clear Blanche from the SaarWhisky distillery. The special thing about this Absinthe is that it has been distilled three times. Each distillation was followed by a further maceration with herbs. This means that the Absinthe is particularly aromatic. Furthermore, no normal grain alcohol was used for the distillation, but a blend with the addition of raspberry and mango spirit. This gives the Blanche a nice fruity note. The price of the Absinthe is comparatively high, which is due to the fact that a lot of herbs (and energy and work) are used in the triple distillation process. It is, so to speak, three Absinthes in one.

Craft spirits at SaarWhisky distillery

The "Saarland" is a region in the southwest of Germany. It is shaped by heavy mining and crowned with multifaceted natural landscapes. This region is as well home of the SaarWhisky distillery. Since 2015 SaarWhisky is specialized in so-called "Single Cask Bottling". These are whiskey bottling from only one single cask, which are offered in small batches. These have the same alcohol strength in the bottle as it was originally in the whiskey barrel (cask strength) and come without the addition of colorants or cooling filtration. For this, SaarWhisky imports barrels from Scotland and Ireland, which they personally select from hundreds. In the last years they have expanded their selection as well to exceptional Absinthe, Pastis and Gin which they distill in small batches with eccentric bottle designs.
