Description

ALANDIA Verte is an award-winning, traditional green Absinthe which is distilled in Fougerolles, France, at a family-owned distillery dating back to 1859. The recipe is primarily focused on Absinthes iconic ingredient: Wormwood, also known as “La Grande Absinthe”. The plants are cultivated on the fertile fields of the distillery, which guarantees superior quality. Additionally, all processes orient on 19th century traditions: Like in the old days, the harvest is done by hand and the wormwood sprigs dry for several months in a wooden hut, the so called the “séchoir”.

True to the original is as well the production process. The recipe consists of a decent portion of wormwood (artemisia absinthium), which is carefully blended with several other traditional herbs, including green anise and fennel plus the artemisia species genepi. For the making of the final spirit, copper stills are used for distillation. After distillation the initially crystal-clear spirit is macerated with selected coloring herbs. They give ALANDIA Verte its natural green color. As direct sunlight would harm ALANDIA Verte’s natural green color, each bottle is wrapped in paper. Please store the bottle after opening in a dark place.

We recommend ALANDIA Verte to first-timers and connoisseurs alike. Beginners will most likely appreciate the fresh taste of this Absinthe, not overpowering on fennel, therefore reducing the "licorice" taste. The latter can detect the individual components of the Absinthe: Fresh notes of green anise, balanced out with slightly grassy tones of genepi finishing in a complex and floral taste of wormwood.

How to drink Absinthe the original way:

You should drink ALANDIA Verte according to the classic French Absinthe ritual. You need an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon, sugar cubes and ice-cold water for this original way of drinking Absinthe. This is how the ritual works: Fill some Absinthe into the glass (approx. 1 oz). Then place the Absinthe spoon on the rim of the glass, put a sugar cube on top and slowly add water. You can use a water carafe or - even more professional - an Absinthe fountain. The Absinthe in the glass blends with sugared water and magically louches from green to an opalescent white color. We recommend a ratio of 1 part Absinthe to 2 parts water. Finally, stir the Absinthe with the spoon. Your glass of Absinthe is prepared!

Better than Medication for Water Borne Illnesses Review by CN

I use this Absinthe for medical reasons. I lived in the 3rd World for a time as an Engineering Inspector. The 3rd World is squalid and filthy. There are all types of vile diseases in the 3rd World. Most are do to bad water or bad food. Bad water is the number one killer in the 3rd Word. I developed a tropical disease from drinking foul water. The physicians were giving me Minocycline. (Minocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body) two tablets a day for a month to control it. Or I can drink one once of Absinthe in a drink, Once a Week, and the disease goes away and stays away. Some of the older Remedies are better than the new medications. Physicians don’t know everything. Note: The American formulations of Absinthe will Not work as they are NOT the same.

awesome first experience Review by Carlos

When I recieved my package yesterday I couldn't wait to open it. I was pleasently surprised to find everything intact (thank God). I purchased this bottle and Strong 68 so I could compare the two. Both are wickedly good. I like this one a bit more because it is less bitter than Strong 68. This is my first experience with Absinthe and the 'Effects' were very nice. I'm glad I read the reviews since they were spot on. I will definately purchase this one and Strong 68 again. Thank you Alandia! (Posted on 12/16/2022)

in my top 3 Absinthe list Review by Caroline

This is an excellent Absinthe. I love how it louches and tastes. It is very smooth. I drink my absinthe with a 3:1 ratio of water to Absinthe. This doesn't need sugar to make it taste great. It is a great flavor without needing anything but very cold ice water. Buy a bottle and you will see. (Posted on 12/15/2022)

Really enjoyed this Verte, excellent taste not too bitter, great coloring and louche and though traditional in general ingredient, more herbs up front in the taste taking that comparison to licorice down a notch (Posted on 9/29/2022)

Do I taste cotton candy? Of course not, but this Absinthe has a lovely sweet and soft note, which combines wonderfully with the freshness of anise and fennel. There are Absinthes where you want to drink more than a glass. Alandia Verte is one of them. (Posted on 9/29/2022)
