This high quality Bubble Absinthe glasses set is a very special accessories set. It is made for Absintheurs, who love the louche; the cloudy effect when the Absinthe in the glass begins to blend with the ice-cold water. The set includes two mouth-blown Bubble Absinthe glasses. They have a reservoir bubble in the stem to measure the correct amount of Absinthe and to perfectly orchestrate the louche. It is filled with the Green Fairy, then, water is added. The Absinthe begins to mix with the water and louches in the bubble in swirls. The effect is really magical (watch the video below)!
The slower the water is added to the glass, the better is the effect. Therefore, the bubble glass set includes as well two stainless steel brouilleurs (drippers). These metal plates are authentic reproductions of historical originals. They are placed on the rim of the Absinthe glass and are filled with ice cubes and water. Through the small holes in the plate, the water slowly drips into the glass. If you like, you can add as well some sugar cubes to the dripper. Therefore, the set includes s well one bag of Absinthe sugar cubes. The cubes are less pressed than regular cubes, therefore they dissolve better. If you are looking for a very authentic and professional Absinthe experience, this Absinthe accessory set is the right one for you. Enjoy the ritual!
First, you have to fill the bubble with Absinthe. Then place the dripper on the rim of the glass and fill it with ice cubes and - if you like - add one or two sugar cubes. Then slowly pour water into the dripper. Now, drop by drop, the Absinthe in the glass blends with water. Watch how the Absinthe in the bubble magically louches in white clouds. It is fascinating. Bubble glasses were made in the late 19th century (1880-1890). But they were never widely popular, and seem to have been discontinued by the early 1900s. Why? Maybe because of the difficulty in cleaning the bubble, especially when you prepare your Absinthe with sugar. Nowadays, with water pressure from the tap it is easy, but back in the days things looked different...
