The recipe of Hamlet Hardcore Black is based on the classic Absinthe herbs wormwood, anise and fennel. Furthermore, this black Absinthe has strong 69% alcohol by volume (138 proof). Despite the high alcoholic proof, the Absinthe is pleasantly mild in taste. A slight sweetness is present in the finish, which indicates the use of cinnamon and vanilla in the recipe. When ice-cold water is added, Hamlet Black turns into a beautiful milky white. This is called the "louche" in technical Absintheur jargon. The skull glasses included in the set are a perfect match for the Hamlet Absinthe. They hold 80 ml / 2.7 oz, i.e. exactly the right amount for a strong Absinthe. The Wormwood Bitters are added to the drink after it is blended with water. As mentioned above, we recommend adding two splashes (approx. 30 drops).
