Description

Are you looking for superior quality Absinthe? Then this Absinthe Set is the right thing for you. It contains all four types of Jade Absinthe. Jade Absinthes are distilled in Combier on the Loire according to authentic recipes on historical Pernod-Fils stills. Their authenticity cannot be surpassed, as they have been re-engineered to a certain extent. This means that old Absinthe brands were chemically analysed and reproduced as authentic as possible. You can learn more about this further down on this page.

The set includes the Absinthe Verte Suisse (a fresh green Absinthe inspired by green Swiss mountain meadows), Jade 1901 (a typical Frenchman with anise and fennel in the foreground), Nouvelle Orleans (a lighter Absinthe compared to the rest, slightly floral with a focus on anise) and Jade Edouard (the strongest Absinthe in the set, more for advanced Absintheurs who appreciate a slightly smoky, whiskey-like taste in Absinthe).

The story behind the Jade Absinthes:

The US-American Ted Breaux is the master distiller of the Jade Absinthe line. Almost all Jade Absinthes are authentic reproductions of historical Absinthe brands. You wonder how he reproduces the Absinthe? It's not that trivial, but Ted Breaux is a chemist, which helps him with his reproduction process. He first gets an old bottle of the Absinthe to be reproduced as a reference. This first step often turns out to be very difficult, because Pre-Ban Absinthes, i.e. Absinthes before the time of the Absinthe ban (1915), are extremely rare and expensive. He then analyses the composition of the Absinthe in the laboratory. He re-engineered the recipe scientifically, so to speak. Of course, this process is not purely technical. As an Absintheur, Ted also has the necessary passion to give the Absinthe its final touch. The results are quite impressive. Jade Absinthe enjoy a high reputation in the Absinthe community. We ourselves have already drunk Pre-Ban Absinthe and can confirm that Mr. Breaux understands his craft. His Absinthes are very similar to the originals!

The original way of drinking Absinthe:

In the following video you can see how you prepare Absinthe the traditional French way. You need an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon, sugar cubes and ice cold water for this traditional ritual. This is how it works: You place the Absinthe spoon on the rim of the glass, put a sugar cube on top and slowly add water. The Absinthe in the glass blends with water and magically louches from green to an opalescent white color. Santé, your glass of Absinthe is prepared.
