Using the London Dry Gin tradition, Six Ravens Gin is produced exclusively from the distillation of selected botanicals. Neither sugar nor other flavorings are added to the distillate afterwards. The recipe for Six Ravens London Dry Gin is designed for individuality and taste. In addition to classic botanicals such as coriander seeds, angelica and lemon peel, Six Ravens gets its unique character from the distillation of fresh ginger root. The fruity yet tart note of ginger not only harmonizes perfectly with the typical spicy note of juniper, but also combines particularly well with the slightly bitter aromas of tonic water. This makes Six Ravens London Dry Gin the perfect gin for a tasty Gin & Tonic. The alcohol content also supports the enjoyment of Six Ravens with tonic. At 46%, this is slightly higher in order to preserve the specific flavor profile of the gin in the long drink. We recommend preparing it with a lemon zest.

The Six Ravens legend

"Sire, if the Tower of London ravens are lost, the Crown will fall and Britain with it!"

On June 22, 1675, King Charles II opened the Royal Observatory at the Tower of London. However, a short time later, the king received a complaint: The court astronomer, John Flamsteed, felt that his work was being hindered by the wild ravens living at the Tower and - in the service of science - demanded that they be driven out immediately. At first, King Charles was not averse to the request, but his advisor strongly advised him against it. The ravens belong to the Tower like the crown belongs to England. Expulsion of the ravens would also mean the downfall of the kingdom! Horrified by this warning, Charles II changed his mind. He decreed that from now on, at least six ravens should always be present at the Tower of London. This was to be ensured by the “Raven Master”. The observatory itself was moved to Greenwich, just outside London. From that day on, the Tower's ravens were treated like royalty: Looked after by servants, funded by public money, and honored in great splendor - Hopeful that the prophecy would never come true...
