Mansinthe Absinthe is the official Absinthe of the artist Marilyn Manson. Tastewise, the Absinthe is rather traditional, i.e. it has a natural green color and convinces with a balanced, not too strong herbal composition. The anise content is kept low, so that the Absinthe is also suitable for those Absintheurs who prefer the taste of aniseed rather subtly. The Mansinthe label is decorated with an original work of art by the musician and painter. Overall, Mansinthe is a must-have Absinthe for Marilyn Manson fans.

Marilyn Manson was intensely involved in the development of Mansinthe. It was the result of a two years process. One of the makers of the Absinthe, Mr. Lion, once said in an interview: "Manson was intensely involved in the development, constantly tasting the samples, giving his opinion and providing suggestions for changes. When he was completely satisfied with a prototype, the final implementation was swift." The final Absinthe was then presented in one of his art exhibitions in Germany. Brian Hugh Warner, the artists real name, communicated the launch at Galerie Schenk in Cologne, on 27th June 2007.

In my opinion this bottle was a little pricey. I But i had to try it out. The taste wasn't too bad not a harsh anise flavor (Verte smooth) like what i had expected. As for the sweetness it didn't feel as intense as the Strong 68 or the Gothica but more like the effects of the Gruene Fee. Over all I would say worth trying. When I purchased this it was my first time buying absinthe. I ordered a bottle of slipknot no 9 and in the process found out MM made a liquor. Being a metal fan I picked this up in the set with Gothica so I could have a comparison. Compared to the Gothica, which I really liked, the anise taste in Mansithe is more reminiscent of Dutch black licorice. The Gothica was a more deep bitter taste. But they both got me hooked on absinthe. Just received another shipment with a few different absinthe to try out, but made sure to buy 2 more bottles of Mansithe to have. One of my favourite Absinthe on the site. The crisp taste shines through the ritual. One sugar cube brings out all the flavours. If you want to shake things up, it also mixes well with Red Bull. It has a slightly bitter finish. (Posted on 9/29/2022)Rating
