"Gurkengeist" means cucumber spirit. And this is exactly what this product is all about: Fresh German cucumbers from the Lake Constance are first macerated in neutral grain alcohol to be distilled afterwards. The resulting spirit is full of crisp freshness. No sugar or other additives are added, this spirit is pure and clean! The cucumber fascinates bartenders all around the world already for quite a long time. As a Gin & Tonic garnish, it is an all-time favorit. Now, with the "Gurkengeist" you can further enhance your drink. You do not need to add a lot, the Gurkengeist is intense. Of course, you can also drink it neat or create new "vegetable" cocktails with it. One great Gin cocktail is the "Le Gurk". Here is the recipe:

"Le Gurk" Cocktail with Gurkengeist

In the year 2009 Axel Klubescheidt, a German bartender, created the "Le Gurk". We used his original recipe but added a bit of "Gurkengeist" to it, to make the drink even more cucumber-like.

> 1/8 Cucumber

> 1 cl Sugar Syrup

> 2 cl fresh Lemon Juice

> 4 cl Gin (e.g. Monkey 47)

> 2 cl Gurkengeist

> 2 cl Elderflower Syrup

> 4 cl Apple Juice (unfiltered)

Preparation of the cucumber cocktail

Cut the cucumber in small pieces and put it together with the lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker. Muddle it for a while and then add the other ingredients plus some ice cubes. Shake everything (10-15 times) and strain it into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish it with a slice of cucumber. Cheers!
