"Rote Beete Geist" is German and means beetroot spirit in English. Superfood enthusiasts love this purple root for its richness in minerals and vitamins. Florian Faude, a young distiller from southern Germany, has now used this superfood to create a premium spirit. Rote Beete Geist is slightly spicy in its taste, with earthy tones typical for fresh beetroots. In the finish, you detect an interesting sweetness. Overall, this product has the charme of rural fanciness. The beetroots are sourced from a local farmer of Faudes's hometown. Before distillation, they are cut in pieces and are macerated in neutral grain spirit to set free their full flavor. This extraordinary spirit can be sipped neat as described above or you can use Rote Beete Geist for creative bartendering. We can recommend the Gin cocktail "Bloody Detox" cocktail!
People detox from London to New York. And believe it or not, now you can also detox with your favorite spirit Gin ;-). We have created the "Bloody Detox" cocktail, mixed with Faude's Beetroot spirit. We hope that it will get as famous, as all the celebrities detoxing around the world! One benefit is already, that this drink actually tastes good, and you are allowed (are expected!) to drink more than just one glass. This is the ingredients list for mixing the "Bloody Detox" cocktail:
> 1/2 Beetroot (fresh or pre-cooked from the supermarket)
> 2 cl Sugar Syrup
> 2 cl fresh Lemon Juice
> 4 cl Gin (e.g. Geranium)
> 2 cl Rote Beete Geist
> 4 cl Apple Juice
Cut the beetroot in small pieces and put it together with the lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker. Muddle it for a while and then add the other ingredients plus some ice cubes. Shake everything (10-15 times) and strain it into a tumbler glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish it with a slice of beetroot and parsley leaves. Cheers!
