In 1914 Absinthe got banned in France. Many other countries followed soon after. Banned for almost a century until its recent legalization, the spirit is able to magically transport us back to the golden times of the Belle Époque. To drink a pre-ban Absinthe from the era of Toulouse Lautrec and Van Gogh is an extraordinary and rare experience. You have the feeling of sitting in the Moulin Rouge, reaching back in time to the famous era of a distant past. Vintage Absinthe is far rarer than other vintage spirits like Cognac or Whiskey. The rarest are pre-ban Absinthe bottles, followed by antique Spanish Absentas from the early 20th century. As Spain was one of the few countries, which never prohibited the liquor, production was kept up until the late 1960s.
