La Bleues are crystal clear Absinthes, which are mainly produced in Switzerland. Its name refers to the blueish, milky louche which you will experience, when water is added to the Absinthe. The alcohol level of La Bleues is lower in comparison to other Absinthes. Typically, they have 50-60% alc. by vol. This makes them easy to drink. Often they are sipped with ice-cold water, no sugar. The sweetness of the herbs is enough. Overall, a very refreshing experience!
Our recommendation is La Bleue Artisanale from the Swiss Matter distillery. We love the refreshing sweet taste of this Absinthe, although it is not sugared. The natural sweetness comes from green anise and fennel. With ice-cold water, you can not get enough of this seductive spirit.
