Buy Green Absinthe (Verte)

An Absinthe Verte is the most iconic representation of the Green Fairy. The color is achieved by adding special coloring herbs to the final distilled product. Vertes often have a higher alcohol degree to help maintain the green color.

Green Absinthe, which brand should you buy?

One of our favorites is ALANDIA Verte, our housebrand. It is distilled with a lot of wormwood and green anise for a traditional taste. The overall composition of the recipe is quite balanced and creates a fresh and smooth taste. If you are a fan of fresh Absinthes another recommendation to buy is Suisse Verte. This traditional Swiss Absinthe has a very nice bright green color and its taste reminds of fresh meadows without overpowering on one specific herb. Heritage Verte is a very original Absinthe with a delicious wine alcohol base. It has sort of a pre-ban, vintage taste profile. Overall this is a very intense brand. All Jade Absinthes from Mr. Ted Breaux are a good choice too. For more information about a specific Absinthe, please consult as well the large number of the product reviews other Absintheurs have written in our store.

Grön Opal is a classic green Absinthe from Sweden. It is based on the three traditional herbs ingredients wormwood, anise and fennel. The green color is achieved by adding a well-balanced blend of dried herbs to the distillate, which is completely colorless when it comes out of the still. Roman wormwood, hyssop and lemon balm are the most traditionally used herbs for this purpose. Learn More
