Description

A green Absinthe from Switzerland which is distilled with an infusion of Brandy. This gives this Absinthe a fruity smack. Absinthe Brevans is named after Jacques de Brevans, author of the French liquor-maker's manual, "La Fabrication des Liqueurs". The recipe of this Absinthe is from this book dating from 1897. The H.R. Giger painting on this label is called "Brain Salad Surgery II", is from the 1970's, where it got famous as the cover art of the rock group Emerson, Lake and Palmer's album of the same name.

Serving HR Giger Absinthe the original way:

In the following video you can see how you prepare Absinthe the traditional French way. You need an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon, sugar cubes and ice cold water for this ritual. This is how it works: You place the Absinthe spoon on the rim of the glass, put a sugar cube on top and slowly add water. The Absinthe in the glass blends with water and magically louches from green to an opalescent white color. Santé, your sugared Absinthe is prepared!

I'd have to agree completely with the previous review - this is an excellent absinthe! Wonderful, full bodied, well rounded flavor. It's now become one of my all time favorites and I'm saving up my money to buy a few more bottles as I know this one won't last long and I'll be wanting more. :)

On a scale of 1 - 10 this would get a 10.5, Its has to be just a little better than any other of the various absinthes i've tryed. Brevans nice hypnitic green color and a beautiful full bodied aroma... Remembering almost brings a tear to me eye, ussually a botte is around a while but Brevans doesn't like to stick around.
