New Year’s Eve always requires a lot of drinking, especially being with all the friends and family. It can get boring, drinking the same drinks over and over again. We thought of something special that combines your love of Absinthe with the traditional way to introduce the New Year.
Special Absinthe Drink: Why we came up with it
Unfortunately, Absinthe is not a beverage that everybody likes. The licorice taste is for newbies, sometimes simply too strong. However, we wanted you to be able to enjoy the Green Fairy, at least somehow, when introducing the year 2017. Most people start the new year by clinking glasses filled with sparkling wine, so can you this year!

Special Absinthe Drink: Champagne with Absinthe
The secret of our recipe is that you just add a little bit of Absinthe to the drink. You achieve this, by soaking a sugar cube with Absinthe instead of pouring Absinthe into the glass. The drink gets some extra sweetness, because of the sugar, so make sure that you use a dry Champagne. In the glass, the drink looks magically, as the bubbles of Champagne slowly dissolve the sugar cube. Here is the complete preparation instruction:
- Dip a sugar cube in a glass of Absinthe (the sugar does not dissolve, due to the high proof of the Absinthe).
- Fill a glass with Champagne and add the sugar cube.
- Enjoy and celebrate with your loved ones!
