Absinthe, ALANDIA & Burlesque

If you look for a description of Burlesque at Wikipedia it reads: “Burlesque” is a literary, dramatic or musical work intended to cause laughter by caricaturing the manner or spirit of serious works, or by ludicrous treatment of their subjects.” Sounds like a lot of fun and indeed it is. In our home base Cologne, some girls grouped up and started a Burlesque team, they are called Pepperellas and perform throughout Germany. Lately Pink Champagne, one of the artists, made her own party and asked us to support the event with some Absinthe and accessories to make it an Absinthe Burlesque Party!

Blended Absinthe, how does it taste?

On last years Absinthiades, a blended Absinthe won the first price. Blended Absinthe is a mix of different Absinthes. So basically you can mix any Absinthe you have in your bar to create a new one. We have made a test and mixed one part Strong68 with two parts République. The bitter taste of Absinthe Strong68 mixes perfectly with the fresh character of République. We were positively surprised of our blended Absinthe. Give it a try, it makes fun and is something experiential. Although, we prefer to drink Absinthe individually. Here are some photos of our “how to blend Absinthe” test:

Absinthe Anniversary: 10 years ALANDIA

ALANDIA Absinthe Anniversary
ALANDIA Absinthe Anniversary

ALANDIA celebrates its 10th Absinthe anniversary!

Back in 2001 we started to sell the first bottles of Absinthe, after we got aware of the Green Fairy through a trip to Spain. In Spain, Absinthe was never banned, therefore you could find Absinthe bottles in the shelves of the local liquor store. As we were so fascinated by the product and the history of the Green Fairy, we decided to make this piece of history available for everyone. We founded ALANDIA and began to import Absinthe from around the world! Soon, ALANDIA started to develop its own Absinthe brands. Strong68 and Gold68 were born and soon many other brands followed like Suisse La Bleue or Maison ALANDIA and Epoque.

Now, 10 years after the founding year, ALANDIA is the leading Absinthe store on the internet, and we want to thank the whole Absinthe community for the support. You guys are the real kings and queens, thanks for your loyalty and motivating feedback through the years! Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are right now!

All the best and many wishes! Your ALANDIA Team!

3D Absinthe Images

Everyone is talking about 3D! Think of all the movies that are now filmed in 3D. We were infected by the 3D virus and created some 3D Absinthe images. All you need is a 3D goggle. You can buy one online, for example at eBay, or you can make one by yourself. Just take a transparent sheet and color one in red and the other in blue or green. Then look at the pictures. You will be amazed how real these 3D Absinthe images will look like!

Absinthe Scene in Eurotrip

This movie created a big buzz for Absinthe. We often received inquiries like “Do you sell the Absinthe from Eurotrip..?”. First of all, such a nucelar green glowing Absinthe does not exist, it is a Hollywood film requisite. And of course, Absinthe does not make you hallucinate. But the movie Eurotrip is funny, full of prejudices, but sometimes they can be quite entertaining 😉 Continue reading “Absinthe Scene in Eurotrip”

Absinthe Scene in Blood and Chocolate

Here is another movie “Blood and Chocolate” it is about vampires in Romania, they drink Absinthe as their spiritual drink and as a serum of truth… Watch the video, they drink it as a shot, but within the movie there are some more scenes where Absinthe is prepared more traditional.
