Description

Abisinthe Amer is a distilled Absinthe from the historical region of Fougerolles in France, it has a significant wormwood bouquet, no sugar is added and it belongs in the category of bitter spirits, which stands for a triple amount of wormwood. If you are looking for a similar Absinthe, try Absinthe Libertine Amer. We prefer it to Abisinthe Amer!

The Lemercier Absinthe Distillery:

In the photo gallery you can see some old photos of the Lemercier Absinthe distillery. Lemercier already prodcued Absinthe in the 19th century and many of the former buildings still look exactly the same 100 years later. The city of Fougerolles, where the distillery is located, was the second French Absinthe distillery hub next to Pontarlier. The Devoille distillery is for example as well located in Fougerolles.

Turns you into puke face
This is the most awful absinthe on the market. If you believe these good reviews than your listing to amateur tasters. Gross from start to finish in your mouth. The alcohol taste is overpowering anything else. Wormwood flavor is off and wierd. Not only is it bitter but the alcohol makes the bitterness taste funny.

Burn all your taste buds with an open flame before putting this crap in your mouth.

This absinthe starts out almost clear, just the slightest of a shade of green, allowing you see better the birth of la fee verte, with a slow drip fountain over a cube of sugar, because this absinthe is slow to louche theres plenty of time to watch the metamorphosis of the green fairy that inhabits the wormwood. The louche slowly begins to turn a milky white or having a lemonade look, the aroma begins to fill the area. Use a measured glass and theres no worry about the mix. Be sure to use a mixing spoon to dissolve the sugar in the ice water well. This absinthe is very bland with only the taste of anise and for a 72% it has very little bite and is very smooth, so much so it made me wonder if I was drinking licorice water, rather disappointing. For claiming triple amount of wormwood again very disappointing. Perhaps I got a bad bottle but I am not impressed with this brand at all. Each of us is different but I can say this one did not work for me at all, I was surprised about that, based on prior reviews I can not justify a reorder.

A Very Good Absinthe
Beautiful louche, great taste, no bite. This is a quality absinthe. I would not hesitate to order it again, and again, and again...

I have tried quite a few absinthes and none have moved me enough to write a review until now, so in one word i would describe this particular absinthe as QUALITY! I would also like to take this opportunity to say that Alanida is probally the best site for your rendezvous with Die Grune Fee. Believe me i'm a fussy cow so it must be the excellent!

I tasted this strait before louching. I was wonderfully surprised at how smooth and flavorful this Absinthe is. I could tell this is a sign of a well made liquor (meaning the distiller has made the "Cuts" at the correct time to remove the unpleasant volatiles).

A thick louche that starts as a wonderful gold/honey color and transforms into a crystal/shimmering honey color to finish as a thick gold/cream color. Anise flavor is obvious but not overpowering. The higher alcohol content does not hit you on the palate. the other flavors are very well balanced into the total mix.

This will be a part of my permanent collection of Absinthe. I highly recommend this to every Absinthure!
