Siegfried and the legend of the Nibelungs:
The song of the Nibelungs, is a German epic poem from the 13th century. The story tells of dragon-slayer Siegfried. He got invulnerable after having killed a dragon and taking a bath in his blood. But, and this will get Siegfried´s destiny, a linden leaf landed on his back while taking the bath. At this spot Siegfried remains vulnerable and later in the story he gets murdered by a javelin. This perfidious murder is particularly dishonorable in medieval thought, as throwing a javelin is the manner in which one might slaughter a wild beast, not a knight.
