Hamlet, the tragedy by William Shakespeare, recounts how Prince Hamlet exacts revenge on his uncle for murdering his father. The gravedigger scene is well known where Hamlet thinks about the commonness of death and the vanity of life, while looking in the face of an unearthed skull. To be or not to be, probably the most famous quote of the play, expresses what Absinthe Hamlet Hardcore Black stands for: A black Absinthe with a merciless alcohol percentage of 69% (138 proof!) combined with grand wormwood (artemisia absinthium) and bottled in a unique skull bottle. Despite its strength, Hamlet Hardcore Black has a surprisingly smooth taste. This is achieved by adding a bit of cinnamon and vanilla to the recipe.
How to drink black Absinthe Hamlet Hardcore
You shouldn't drink Absinthe Hamlet Hardcore Black straight, unless you want to experience the "Shot of Death". This black colored liquor is simply too strong. We recommend to drink Hamlet Hardcore Black on ice or mixed with two parts ice-cold water and one sugar cube. Ideally in a skull glass, which you can also buy here at our store. You can also use this black Absinthe for strong cocktails. We like for example Hamlet Hardcore Absinthe mixed with Coke and served on ice. But you better be careful, this drink is super strong.

I wanted to try this after I tried the green. It's MUCH stronger, at least it seemed that way to me, but still delicious. The flavors are amazing, not giving it quite the bite of other absinthes that I've tried, which to me is a big plus. I like a drink I can enjoy slowly, not one that I wince before drinking. That's why I would have to be a fool to try the Shot of Death. This MUST be mixed the proper way, with a fountain, spoon, and sugar cube. Turns into a glorious purple. This is an extremely great tasting absinthe for the strong category. The effects are very gradual, but do the trick in a gentle way. I have drank this absinthe straight to get the maximum effect. A marvelous, mild flavor. Definitely noticeable is the anise, however it has neither the strength nor the bite of some of the other brands such as strong 68, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. A very strong Absinthe with an unconventional taste. Louche is opalescent purple to milky grey depending on how much water is used. Overall, the taste misses the mark for me.
