Ferdinands Saar Dry Gin is a very special Gin from Germany. It is infused with Riesling, a German wine from the Saar region. This uncommon ingredient which makes up to 1-5% of the final product, gives Ferdinands Gin a fruity, floral taste. Next to this, 30 different botanicals including fruits, herbs and spices are distilled. You find lavender, coriander, chamomile and quince in this long list of ingredients. If you are looking for a floral innovative Gin, give Ferdinands Saar Dry Gin a try! And yes, every bottle is corked with a real wine cork. As a garnish we can recommend a lime-zest (see our video).
Why is the name of the Gin "Ferdinand"?
Ferdinand Gin owes its name to the former Royal Prussian District Forester Ferdinand Geltz (1851 – 1925), who also co-founded the VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine growers group. It promoted the sale of premier quality unchaptalized wines as a way to raise the profile, both domestically and internationally, of the outstanding Rieslings being produced in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer winegrowing region.
