Do you sell authentic Absinthe?
Yes, all our Absinthes contain wormwood (artemisia absinthium). All our Absinthes are authentic European Absinthes, which means the recipes aren´t modified for the US market: We sell the Real Deal.

Which Absinthe is the best?
There are many varieties of Absinthes and therefore it is hard to evaluate the brands. You can have a look at our Bestseller list, the Evaluations or check our Absintheurs Best section in the shop. Anyway here is our personal list of fame:

1. Absinthe Epoque - Definitely the finest Absinthe. Handmade using an authentic recipe consisting of only the finest herbs.

2. Absinthe Suisse Verte Clandestine (SVC) - The one and only green Absinthe from Val de Travers, where Absinthe was invented in the 18th century.

3. Absinthe Maison ALANDIA - More herbal than Epoque and SVC. A complex green Absinthe for the Absinthe professional.

4. Absinthe Suisse La Bleue Clandestine - Crystalclear distillate from Val de Travers. Tradition and quality at its best, smooth and balanced taste.

5. Absinthe Strong68 - The best Absinthe effect, maximum wormwood.

Will Absinthe show up in a drug test, I heard that thujon has a similar structure to THC?
No, Absinthe will not show up in any drug test. It has nothing to do with THC.

Do you ship to the US?
Yes, we do ship to the US on daily basis since the year 2001. The delivery is guaranteed but you MUST be of legal drinking age to visit our site.

How will my order be shipped to the US and is it safe?
It will be shipped via Courier, which takes approx. 6-8 days. All boxes can be tracked online. You will get your tracking number automatically as soon as your order is shipped. Therefore you always know the status of your sending.

Is a signature required for delivery?
Yes. If you are not at home the Courier will leave a note or call you. You can then pick up your box in your local post office.

Can you ship to P.O. boxes?
No. A signature is required for the delivery.

Do you ship to Canada?
We are very sorry that we can not ship Absinthe to Canada, even though it was never officially banned there. This is due to the number of seizures of self-imported alcohol made by customs recently, and on the confusion caused by different regulations regarding Absinthe and thujone levels set by each Province. But we DO ship accessories there.

Can I pay with Paypal?
No, Paypal does not allow alcohol sales through their system, therefore we are not able to offer this service.

Is the payment processed through a secure server?
Yes. All payments are processed through the payment system of Worldpay which use the newest SSL coding technique.

My Credit Card is rejected, why and what can I do?
Credit Cards can be blocked by the issuing bank because of security reasons. This can be the case, when you place an order with a high amount or when you usually don´t order with your credit card internationally in the internet. If this is the case, contact your credit card bank first and inform them, that they shall allow the payment. If you then still have problems, contact us.

What is the conversion from Euro to $?
You can check the ambivalent $ amount of the Euro prices with our Currency Converter. You will find it in the information box in the shop in the down left corner. At the end of the order process you can also switch to $ or Pound.

Why is the $ amount that I have to pay at the end of the order process slightly different from the calculation from the currency converter?
The $ amount at the end of the order is calculated by Worldpay, the credit card bank. They take an average rate of the last weeks, therefore there can be a slight difference to the current exchange rate used by the currency converter. We have no influence on the rates, sorry.

How many bottles can I order?
The maximum per box is 6 bottles, as this doesn´t exceed the limit for personal consumption. Larger orders will be splitted in multiple boxes. To save on shipping we recommend to order 6 bottles, that´s the best buy and you are thirsty anyway ;-)

I just want to order some accessories, no bottles, is there a cheaper way of shipping?
Yes, in this case visit our US based Accessory shop www.absinthiana.com. For orders over 100$ the shipping is free!

I tried to set up an account but it does not work?

Where can I buy the Green Fairy Lamp which is shown on the ALANDIA logo and which absinthe is the bottle next to it?
The lamp is an art object from Paul Behrens, an artist from the Belle Epoque. As we have received many inquiries about the lamp, we have managed to reproduce it. The first handmade lamp is now available: Green Fairy Lamp !
