Absinthe Review: Absinthe Heritage Verte

As a big friend of anise I simply love this. Perhaps it isn\'t the best absinthe in the universe, but compared to the price it is a real bargain. Very sweet, almost like liqueur, so it doesn\'t need any sugar.

Nice colour and smooth taste. Probably the best absinthe I have at home right now and I will definitly buy it again.

One of the few that is not bad neat since the bitterness is not overwhelming. Only needs one cube of sugar when louched. Complex flavour with an aftertaste that at first is rather chemical but then changes to herbal.. interesting. The best/worst thing about this absinthe is that I found it retail down the street in Chicago less expensive than from Alandia! Imagine that.

It was love at first taste! It's bursting with flavor, not too strong nor bitter, and goes down smooth! I can describe it as perfectly "balanced" in all aspects. I'm very impressed! 5 stars all the way!!!

Alandia has another winner here! The aroma is spicey with a hint of fruit, due, I think, to the wine alcohol base. The color is a beautiful golden-green and the louche is very thick and fast forming. The flavor is wonderful. It's bold, robust, full-bodied and intensely herbal. I usually drink my absinthe at a 4:1 ratio, but due to the extremely complex herbal bill I like this one at 5:1. And that makes the bottle go a little further :). I know Alandia has been working on this for quite some time and I've got to say that it's worth the wait!

This is an impressive absinthe. The anise is VERY prominent, the louche is a wonderful creamy pearlescent color (it almost completely blocks light, it's so thick), and it has a slightly sweet flavour. This is the first absinthe I don't need to use sugar with. The only drawback is that, not needing sugar, I can't naturally add that tiny bit of caramel taste I enjoy. Otherwise, this is a PERFECT absinthe for beginners (easy to prepare) and experts (nicely rounded). Well done!
