Pontarlier Glasses were commonly used back in the Belle Epoque. The glasses are handmade by the San Miguel glass manufactory in Barcelona, founded in 1840. The glass is mouthblown and has a reservoir in the stem to measure the correct amount of Absinthe. The glass has a pretty wide diameter, to let the Absinthe breathe and develop it´s full flavor. To complete the Absinthe ritual this glass comes with a Brouille top/dripper, which creates a perfect louche. You fill it with ice cubes, place it over the glass and pour water into it. Through the small hole in the dripper a thin beam of water flows into the Absinthe and creates a very sharp louche.
Info: The Pontarlier Glass needs its original Brouille top/dripper. Other drippers are too small.
