Doubs Mystique is not an historical-recreation Absinthe. It's a modern Absinthe, to please the modern palate, although one that pays homage to the Absinthe recipes and methods of the past.

It is distilled in Pontarlier, France. All the herbs - including of course the grande absinthe/wormwood - that could be sourced from the Pontarlier region were sourced locally. The result is a creamy Absinthe, with a modern note. Something new and special.

I can honestly recomend this absinthe. Taste is exiting and mellow, aroma is great and louche is very nice. I have tried many absinthes and this goes to my personal top-3, if it isn't the best. Taste shure has good balance, nothing too much or too less. Buy it and try it!

This is a decent absinthe. I was not overly impressed with it, though. If you're looking for a good starter absinthe, this one is not a bad choice. It has a very mellow taste without being overpowered by the anise/licorice flavor. The effects of this absinthe were less decided in comparison to some of the others I've tried. It was much more of an alcohol buzz. I purchased this as the absinthe of the month. The bonus CD is quite nice!

I need to give this product 4 stars only because it was my first taste of Absinthe. As a newbie I was unsure what product to go for and luckily this was the one I chose. The color is very earthy green with a slight yellow tinge to it. The smell was strong, if a bit mediciney at first. But the louche was great - I chose to add sugar to mine, which in my opinion was a good decision. The aroma after the louche was very herbal. I have to say that this is a very good introductory absinthe. I recommend it for any newbies!
