Absinthe Gold68 uses maximum wormwood for the strongest thujon concentration, but skips anise to avoid a dominating licorice taste. Instead, stimulating citrus notes are present, which give this naturally bitter Absinthe a pleasant body, which is very effective for a real experience. If you are looking for the perfect, non licorice Absinthe effect, this is your choice. No artificial additives are used and the alcohol level is set at a classic 68%. Therefore, Gold68 is suitable for the Czech and the French Absinthe ritual. See for yourself; sip some glasses and the moment turns into truth: In Absinthio Veritas...

When you like Strong68, but want an Absinthe with less licorice, Gold68 is the perfect Absinthe for you.

  • 68% alcohol
  • approx. 35mg Thujon
  • Low licorice

Absinthe Review: Absinthe ALANDIA Gold68

This is very much an acquired taste and I have acquired it. My first glass tasted very harsh, however after my third (not in the same sitting) it has grown on me. I prefer 2 sugars and bit more water than with other absinthes becase it is a bit bitter but that\'s just my taste. The \"effect\" is there and it also, to me, has a \"tart\" taste to it. If you have the extra money and want to try something different you should give this a try.

It's a nice drink, it has a quality finish and an acquired taste. But, and maybe this is just me, it doesn't really feel like you're drinking absinthe.

Not very pleased with this one. I bought Gold68 purposely because it claims to "skipped the anise". I my opinion it had a strong licorice flavor, and strong alcohol taste. Very low louche effect. Try something else if you don't want that licorice taste and want a more authentic absinthe experience.

Normally I prefer Absinthe with the anise flavor. This Absinthe is an exception to my "rule." It has the wonderful bitterness of the wormwood (which prefer) along with the accompanying wormwood "effect." As the description says it has the citrus flavors as well as a wonderful melange of herbal notes to completely balance this Absinthe. The result is a wonderful Absinthe that is complex, full of flavor, has the wormwood "effect' but absent of the licorice flavors of anise. This is the best none anise, or fennel flavored, Absinthe I have had to date.

I definitely agree with the "do not mix with water" idea. The fairy effect is also weaker than the strong68. Wonderful, and I would order again if I had not become an absinthe snob from the other bottles I ordered. Seriously, put this next to a strong68, 2 gold for every strong to get the same effect, which is a hell of a compliment to both.
