The use of wine alcohol for Absinthe distillation is a superior production method. The final result is an Absinthe with a very balanced body with a slight fruity note. La Bleue l´Alcool de Vin is therefore a very interesting alternative, especially designed for the advanced La Bleue Aficionado.

Switzerland can be considered as the birthplace of Absinthe. In the Valley Val de Travers in the Swiss Jura, the Pernod distillery was located and now, almost 100 years after prohibition, the Green Fairy has returned. The Valley is known for its various clandestine Absinthes which were produced by bootleggers in the Swiss Jura during the Absinthe Prohibition. These Absinthes are known under the name La Bleue. In comparison to commercialized Absinthes, La Bleues are produced with only the finest herbs, grown by local farmers. They are distilled using traditional artisan methods, and no coloring or any artificial additives would ever find its way into a genuine La Bleue. Sipping this very special elixir is a sensory experience, the scent of honey and flowers, and the complexity of the first sip introduces you into a fascinating world of taste. The finest quality herbs guarantee an Absinthe inspiration you will never forget.

Absinthe Review: Absinthe ALANDIA Suisse La Bleue Wine Alcohol

This is a very interesting product, mainly because one can also buy the regular Clandestine from the same producer and compare to see how huge a difference is made by the wine alcool used. This one is like the other with an obvious fruity and slightly spicy extra. Some day I find this to be obstrusive, someday I crave for it. Good enough to buy another bottle.

Stunning! I just got my bottle today, I am very pleased with Alandia's service. Naturally, I had to give it a try. This absinthe is very different from anything else I have had the pleasure to sample. It has a very strong fragrance, very mild anise nose,a little woody, sweet scented, almost floral. Seems to pour out a little thicker than most other absinthes I have tried. I am not sure why it seems that way, but it does. While the anise presence seems subdued, it does louche very nicely, and almost immediately. Interesting to watch. The beverage turns to a colour that I could only describe like a cloud on a nice day. That grey-blue-white tone. While tingly on the tongue, this absinthe isn't as "antisceptic" feeling as the others. It doesn't give as much of that "numbing" sort of sensation... although it does warm the belly nicely. This absinthe has a very nice, mellow mouthfeel. The flavours seem very complex to me. Spicy, herbal, with mild fruity overtones. It finishes off dry, like some wines might. I wonder if there is some level of tannin in the alcohol...given that it is distilled with wine alcohol. That would partially explain the dry finish. I taste mild hints of Fennel, though I do not know if it was used in the recipe or not. Decent wormwood presence in the flavour, but only slightly bitter. The herbs seem to blend very well together. At 53% alcohol, this particular absinthe is incredibly palatable. There is very little alcoholic "bite" to this one. I for one like it. It is different. After only 2/3s of a serving, I am noticing the effects of the drink. Very pleasant, and quite calming. Affects the body more than the mind, as I am very clear headed at this point in time. I would recommend this to any absinthe fan who has the budget. Especially to those who would like a traditional absinthe, but get turned off by anise. It is present, but it is in no way overbearing, or unpleasant. Quite refreshing really. 5 stars.

Excellent!!!! The La Bleues are my favorite absinthes and this is no exception. Upon opening the bottle the room was filled with a wonderful fragrance. It has a beautiful louche and a delicious taste. It has the feel of a traditional La Bleue with fruity overtones and is somewhat more full-bodied. A novice absintheur might not notice the difference, but La Bleue fans will. All in all I would have to say it is worth the small additional price to sample this great elixer! I'll be ordering more.
