Absinthe Review: Absinthe La Troublante

Review:
La Troublante has a mild and pleasing aniseed flavour, naturally sweet, and is very clean and crisp. Before adding water the absinthe is crystal clear but after watching the most elegant louche, which clouds in an almost dreamlike manner, the absinthe, like any great 'la bleue', turns a milky white with hues of lavender. La Troublante does not have a particularly herbal flavour and does not require sugar as there is very little bitterness to be tempered and with a rather low alcohol content (53%) needs only two parts water for a light and refreshing drink. As La Troublante comes from the famed Vals de Travers region of Switzerland you know it is a drink of quality, and is also value for money coming in a huge 1 litre bottle. A perfectly refreshing drink if one wishes to sip slowly throughout one’s ‘green hour’ whatever hour of the day it happens to be.
