SOLD OUT: Absinthe Camargo is produced in São Roque, Brazil with nine original herbs, originally used in the XIX century. But don´t expect an ordinary Absinthe. No anise is used in the recipe, therefore you don´t have a louche when water is added. The taste is light. Something to try out, but not a premium or must try Absinthe.

This is far and away the worste absinthe i have had.... i thought ulex was horrible then i tried this one. Poor aroma, and no louche. Its flavour is a combination of turpentine and lime kool-aid. Perhaps it would taste allright in a sacreligious combo like absinthe and redbull but it is horrible the traditional way. This is the Tenth absinthe i have tried and, it (and ulex) is the only two i was displeased with.

As a beginner to absinthe, I can only base this review in comparison to La Fee, and to Tunel Black. But allow me this much: In comparison to the La Fee, it was certainly not as full bodied or sweet. Very little louche and mild anise, but you can definately taste the 8 other herbs in it. A very complex flavor, brought to a sharpened point by the alcohol. Camargo's website does show the absinthe louching, but I was unable to duplicate it myself. This is certainly worth a try if you want something a little different.
