No longer available: This is one strictly limited Absinthe Verte. Based on a Swiss recipe, this Absinthe was distilled in a small batch on 01/01/2005. The distilled herbs are artemisia absinthium (from Val de Travers), green anise, artemisia pontica, fennel, hyssop, melissa, veronica, angelica and coriander. For the coloration artemisia pontica, melissa and veronica were used. We drank most of the bottles by ourselves ;-), as we only distilled 15 liter.

Review:

It reminds me of a batch of Ulex Ordinaire (it's yellow and seriously tastes like the Ulex but a hell of a lot smoother) that someone accidentally dropped some La Bleue in. Not bad at all. It's still excellent, though there's a grain alcohol undercurrnet rather than the nice honey bouquet that the Clandestine has. The Clandestine, though, is far superior. Crummy louche on both of these, but I could care less - the effect is there as well as the flavor. Mike always markets a superior product and it gets to the states by the next week always.
