Switzerland can be considered as the birthplace of Absinthe. In the Valley Val de Travers in the Swiss Jura the famous Pernod distillery was located and now, almost 100 years after the prohibition, the Green Fairy has returned: In 2005 Absinthe was legalized once again in Switzerland.

The Valley is known for its various clandestine Absinthes which were produced by bootleggers in the Swiss Jura during the time of Absinthe Prohibition. These Absinthes are known under the name La Bleue Clandestine. In comparison to commercialized Absinthes, Suisse La Bleues from the Val de Travers are produced with only the finest herbs, grown by local farmers. They are distilled using traditional artisan methods and colouring or any artificial additives would never find its way into such an authentic product. Sipping this very special elixir is a sensory experience, the scent of honey and flowers, and the complexity of the first sip introduces you into a fascinating world of taste and the first quality herbs guarantee an inspiration you will never forget.

Absinthe Review: Absinthe ALANDIA Suisse La Bleue Clandestine

The aroma and flavor of this particular absinthe was excellent, I must admit. However the effect known as the "Green Fairy" never materialized. No inspiration was gained, no elephants trotted through my living room, nothing of any real significance was discovered as I had hoped it would. Apparently some things are nothing more then a myth.

Very good absinthe, very smooth and easy to drink. The only downside is that it isn't traditional, which is important for some drinkers, especially those who haven't yet had any absinthe.

For a 'strong' Absinthe, I found this one *very* smooth, and works fine with a single lump of sugar (where my Amer requires 2). Louches milky white quickly, and the effect slides in within 5-6 mins. A bit of an impulse purchase for me, but one I'm glad I made..

This is one of the smoothest absinthes i've ever tasted. When opening the bottle it unleased a sweet aroma of honey mixed with anise. I was astonished by the scent of this 106 proof alcohol. I used one sugar cube and mixed 50/50 with ice water. It was delicous and smooth without the normal spicey kick of traditional verte absinthes. My only regret is that i didn't get more than one.

Smell after opening bottle: Very complex smell - honey and herbs - floral and fruit smells - and a very present smell like freshly cut greens or sweet grass. Almost no typical anise or mint smells. Color: clear Louche: smokey white/blue swirls changing to a very light white / blue hughe Smell after Louche: Anise and mint smells activated, more balence delicious smell. Fresh cut flower smell very persistant. Taste: AMAZINGLY SMOOTH. Honey and floral taste. My rec: do not use shugar when louching this one, the taste is perfect already and shugar ruins the balence. Typicaly I dont like la bleues as much as verts however this bottle is amazing, I only recived on of these out of a 5 bottle order and I have been trying to save and savor it but it is draining rather quickly. While I enjoy drinking the verts on a more regular basis I would deff order this la bleue again 5/5. - synthetik

this is the best of the best...i had many kinds but compared to this one the rest is like amateur stuff 1 advice: DONT mix this with milk, drink it PURE... water makes it taste like saur milk up to now, and i had many absinthes this is by far the best the eval limit is 5/5 but this gets a 10/5 by me ;)
