This was my first try of a Spanish absinthe. I've had varieties from France, Germany, Andorra, Austria, Czech Republic and they all have their peculiarities. This one was no different. First off, the price is nice for such a large bottle. Second, this is a good one for beginners. This is the 9th or 10th absinthe I've tried. This one louches very nicely. You can drink it on the rocks, with cold water, or prepare it with sugar. It really doesn't need sugar but we did try it that way and it was very nice. The flavor and smell have a pepper essence about it. Black pepper to be exact. I smelled it right off the bat and then when I tasted it the black pepper was on the tip of my tongue along with the anise flavor. I served this to beginners and only two of the four noticed the pepper essence and they suggested I hold my nose and try it again. Then the pepper essence was gone and I was left with a lovely anise flavor. Not heavy to totally herbal and certainly not bitter. The lower alcohol content is nice, also, when trying to get the green fairy to come out and play.

My first ever time with the fairy was with this, louched with 5 parts water and three cubes of the alandia sugar. I had glass to myself and found the effects to slowly sink in over the course of the night. A good, low-alcohol level absinthe for first timers.

I have tried the vert, versinthe, amer, and 68 and must say for the price this is a good absinthe. In fact, i am enjoying a glass right now. The effect is more than expected for the price. Drink it on the rocks, little or no water/sugar needed. A whole liter will keep you stocked longer than some other more expensive drinks.

That kind of emerald green because the bottle is emerald green. The actual colour is a bit more natural. Otherwise, agree totally - a nice-tasting Spanish fairy bargain.

I just ordered another bottle yesterday. I found this brand to be very enjoyable, a good effect for a great price! I for one, actually liked the taste reminds me of black licorish without the sweetness. I guess my girlfriend doesn't like the taste of black licorish so I guess I'll get a bottle of anse free absinthe along with my next order. Shipping came to Florida in exactly 6 days, very pleased.
