I was interested in trying a "blanche" and thought that Kubler 57% might be the way to go (this is pre-ban lift in Switzerland). Being the first clear absinthe I had tasted, I can't really make any comparisons. But I can say I enjoyed it thoroughly. Louched up faster than any absinthe I'd ever seen. Star anise? Yep -- the culprit of the louche in this case. This is unfortunate, seeing how after a few sips my tongue was numb, dulling the otherwise great flavor of this drink. If its distiller could pull back on the star anise, I'd pick this up again. Next up in that department is Un Emile La Blanche or White Fairy... Nice packaging & bottle, however.
