12kg of wormwood is used for every 100 liters  of Absinthe in the new Segarra. This gives it a more potent taste in comparison to the 45 version. With his new creation, Julian Segarra demonstrates once again that not all high quality Absinthes have to be from France! Only fresh wormwood is used for the distillation, therefore the production is limited to only a few bottles per year. Also Mr. Segarra gets older and older and distills less and less. That´s why the price is so high. This Absinthe is near to extinction.

This is by far the one Absinthe that has the farthest departure from anything I have ever tried. There is so much wormwood in this that your breath will wreak the entire night. It will however give a feeling that is a very different but none the less a good drunk. The taste and smell reminds me alot of Tequila, yes tequila with anise. It louches well and leans more towards white than yellow or green. For me for the money I would rather have a nice bottle of Francois Guy and a bottle of Suisse. But if youve tried the rest and are looking for something really different, this is one worth buying and trying. Cool bottle-
