Absinthe Review: Absinthe Coulin

Review:
First off I would like to thank the alandia team for their great service! I was pleasantly surprised that this was a la blanche and that the label was completely different than what is on the website. The cork was really messy, so I suggest a cork knife on top of a a newspaper or tarp for that matter! As far as the absinthe goes, it has a beautiful anise flavor and louches wonderfully! This is my 4th bottle and it is by means not the greatest, BUT for the price you cannot go wrong! If you want a little treat for your taste buds coulin is your drink!

first of all, congratulations to the Alandia team, for the great service, and for the nice gift pack (matches, a sticker, a Franco-Suisse photo and some bear gums, which I found cute and tasty! XD) that came with my order. I was surprised to find that this absinthe is actually a La Blanche! It's ideal for retro or vintage absintheurs, who like that old fashioned flavour! Has a nice, actually awesome louche, a tender taste, but a little slow for the thujon effect to strike! Though, it is a unique and wonderful drink this one! Simply loved it!

Review:
The 3 stars is based off of a comparison to Absinthe Abtshof. Of course, in a classic fashion, this by no means says this absinthe wasn't quality. For instance, if you are less traditional with your absinthe and find more interest in mixed drinks, this absinthe is wonderful. Coulin and Arizona Green Tea with Honey is amazing, by far one of the best mixed drinks I've ever had. Coulin, I found to be stronger than Abtshof, but the effects were said to be more promising from my friends. This absinthe was definately not what I was looking for, I was looking for two bottles of natural green absinthe, although that is not to say this was not quality as well. The louche was sub par for my standards, but wasn't lacking too much. There was a definite milky louche when traditionally drank, although not as superb as Abtshof. Overall, Coulin was more of a hard mixing drink for myself and my friends than it was a traditional absinthe drink. I recommend this for those who enjoy the taste of anise and are adventurous in mixing and experimenting with drinks.

Review:
Pretty good stuff overall. It is actually almost a Blanche or clear absinthe. As for the taste I would say it is pretty straight forward except for one thing dirt. Maybe a moldy taste but just this strange undertone. The bottle is sealed with that red wax which looks great but try getting the cork out without that red waxy stuff getting into the bottle.

Review:
This is one of my favourites. A clear and light tasting Absinthe leaning on the sweet side. When I louche it comes out very milky and this releases a fantatic bouquet. The other thing I like about this one is that it taste great taken neat as well as traditional.
