Absinthe Illusion

This Absinthe is not produced anymore. The last bottles were in the shelves late 2010. Absinthe Illusion was made out of traditional ingredients like wormwood, anise and fennel but also some other unique ingredients were part of the recipe. First and foremost frankincense. You really could detect this special taste in Illusion. Overall it was a quite smooth Absinthe without any overpowering bitterness. It could be enjoyed the classic way with water and sugar. Due to the fennel and anise content it louched when water was added. Nevertheless it was a macerated Absinthe with some oil mixes, therefore not a premium product.

Absinthe & Thujon, what are the effects?

We all know, Absinthe won't make you freak out and you won't see pink elephants on the wall. But drinking Absinthe is different to drinking normal alcohol. It can give you a mental activation, and you might see things a little differently after a few glasses. Oscar Wilde once wrote: "After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world." This might be a bit exaggerated, but drink some glasses of Absinthe Illusion, look at the label, and do you really see two ladies raising a toast...?
