Absinthe Abtshof 66 comes in a one of a kind bottle. It is reminiscent of an old pharmacy bottle with an old-style label made out of real metal. The Absinthe itslef has a very nice milky louche, and a lovely sweet taste of anise. Overall the nise-level of this German Absinthe is higher in comparison to other Absinthes. This explains as well why Abtshof 66 has such a dense louche: The herb anise contains a lot of essential oils which separate as soon as water is added to the Absinthe.

quite standard absinthe smell on this one... the louche is there.. noting special... the taste is not very anise or fennel isch.. in the taste u taste many herbs.. but not... hard to explain.. it is like a sallad of many herbs.. but not so strong herbal taste lik u would like to have... u can feel some wormwood .. this is a good choice if u like absinthe but don't want a taste less and don't either want one with very strong taste... a good absinte to start with... very easy to drink.. taste more through an absinthe glass pipe though... I mix one sugar cube and cold water.. put some ice in the pip... good.. simple.. inspireing.. :-S

this is my first time with the green fairy and i must say that my first impression it smelled very strongly of licorice. after the pour and louche the first taste was a very strong... something with a licorice after taste. after about five minutes i started to feel< um "slightly to the left". not much of a drinker to begin with, but found this very different to come home and unwind with. would have gave it five stars but i thought the licorice taste was a little to strong< other than that a great tasting drink.

I guess I'm a beginner to the world of absinthe and have currently had 5 different kinds. So far this one is my favorite. I drank it at about a 1part absinthe to 2-3 parts cold water and only about a pinch of sugar and it was amazing. The smell was very pleasant to me. I recommend this to anyone.

Very Good Absinthe overall. Smells very pleasnt but the alcohol smell is present. A little bitter if drank straight, but in a 3 to 1 ratio it is very good. Tried it with the french and czech rituals and both tasted very good. No sugar is needed this can be drank with just ice water. Not as good as the limited edition but still another good Absinthe.

Definitely the best absinthe of the ~10 different absinthes I've tasted. Smooth taste, not at all bitter. Goes well with water, mountain dew, energy drinks or even straight. I've used this absinthe to cure atleast five of my friends from the traumas they had due to tasting lousy absinthes. At first I thought I would give it only four stars because I believe somewhere in there is even better absinthe, the greatest of all. But then again, this is the greatest of all absinthes I've ever tasted and even heard of. Absinthe Illusion may give you better(?) effect, but the taste is not even comparable.
